It was a beautiful Sunday and I made myself very happy with a nice Andra Meals for lunch and took a nice nap till evening and the actual plan was to have a sunset tea somewhere near by. The initial plan was to have the evening sunset tea at Akkayamma betta which is very close to us but I felt we should do it in another place for a new experience and we decided to visit the Shree Ramalingeshwara Temple , Baradi which is situated at Nelemangala and about 35 kms from Sahakaranagar.
Around 4pm, Me, Rakesh, Vimarsha and 2 kids started the drive with a flask full of nice Masala Ginger tea and biscuits and reached the place around 5.10pm ( took the Sahakaranagar - Heserghatta road). There is a lake at the base and also a mud road to reach the peak but I guess SUVs can manage to go and could be quite tough for Sedans or Hatchbacks. We went in Rakesh's Polo else would have gone up till the peak If I took my Wolfy ( Terrano). Bikes can also easily reach the peak.
We parked the car near the lake and started to walk up and within 15 mins we reached the peak which has a very beautiful Shree Ramalingeshwara Temple and also a small pond at the top. After exploring temple for 10 mins we got a nice place to sit and to our luck the Sky was slowly getting to its most beautiful form with a golden orange sunset in the Twilight hours. We started to have our ginger tea and it was such a pleasant moment to mix the happiness of Tea with gentle breeze and sunset. This was one among the peaceful moments I had after a busy week of work and other commitments.
We were there till 6 enjoying the different shades of orange paintings the sky was displaying and the was slightly getting dark and the local villagers informed that post sunset bears visit the place and with kids around asked us to leave before its dark. Nelamangala - Tumkur region is famous for its Sloth bear attacks so we started to walk back to the car around 6 and around 6.15 reached the car park, took our car and drove back to Bangalore with yet another pleasant memory..
This place is apt for a evening for about 3 hours and do get back to car before it gets very dark and kids will enjoy this place.
