This monsoon has been a blessed season for me as I started to explore all the unknown waterfalls whichh I couldnt do last year due to the Covid menace... This time around we planned a weekend trip to places inbetween Thirthahalli and Kollur and planned an amazing and exciting Itinerary for the trip & left Bangalore around 10pm on a Friday night on a lovely Monsoon month of August.
Usually I don't plan any trips or drives in the night and always start early morning as I am a early rise person plus am never comfortable to drive post 11pm and its safe too but this time around few friends who joined me are night drive experts to planned a safe night drive.
We reached Thirthahalli around 3am and had a good rest till 8am in a small hotel and then decided to explore few places I have marked for the trip.
Day 1 we visited some waterfall exploration between Thirthahalli and Kollur and we also planned to do treks to Arisinagundi and Belkal theertha but due to time factor we couldn't do that. This will be a covered as a seperate post.
Whats in the blog below is day 2 and day 1 will be covered soon. On day 2 we visited Kavaladurga fort first ( Will be again covered as a separate post) and post that we visited the Talasi Abbi falls which needs about 1km of easy flat trek to the falls and the falls has couple of small tiers. This is a very nice falls and not very scenic as other ones I have seen still a waterfall is a beautiful creation of Mother Nature. Kids can be taken here as access is easy but be careful when you descend down and do this post October if you want to take family and kids
Then we drove around the Mani reservoir and saw a beautiful backwater and a huge stream forming a waterfalls. It was such a scene with Aqua coloured backwater and a waterfall around it. We took a nice dip and swim in it and always get inside the water only if ur a good swimmer. There was no network and we couldn't mark the place so kindly don't request for the location as I myself couldn't get it due to confusing roads of backwaters and no network around. All together this was an amazing weekend we had and thanks once again to mother nature.
